Me and Dad decided to hit the lake yesterday afternoon for a few hours to see if any Crappie had started to show up on some of our deeper spots. Up until just 2 days ago we were still catching them shallow but that is over now and they are showing up deep by the hundreds. Didnt take long to locate them and we went to work filling the livewell. Ended up bringing home a mix of 50 Sandbass and Crappie but threw a ton more back. I really feel like if the Sandbass would have left us alone we could have had our 2 man limit pretty darn quick. Hopefully when the shad spawn starts it will draw some of those Sandbass away from the Crappie spots.

When you see a screen like this you know its about to get good. That is actually both Sandbass and Crappie together. You dont see that very often at all!

Also caught this Flathead on a Crappie Jig and 4 pound line. That was fun!

Very nice. Just got my boat back from the shop Monday, so hope to hit it this weekend. Been a slower spring for us on lavon and Lewisville.

No. Thats Dads boat. His is about 2 feet shorter than mine so its easier to work around trees, docks, and bridge pillars. If we know the winds are going to be calm and Crappie is the main target we take his boat. If its going to be windy we go in my boat.
