They hold up well... Can't hardly burn them on a knob dragging them in. Those fancier ropes are fast, but I like the ranch rope for how we treat them. I do have a couple of flat hatter ropes from the 3:10 Ranch guys... They are pretty handy in the pen.

OP gives off the impression of being a major douche bag, but I'm not judging There was a pitbull thread a while back where someone said they shoot pit bulls anytime they see them because they don't consider them dogs. I was poking fun at the person that made that comment because he works a ranch today after retiring from public service.

Long story short..... when I was teenager.... I was fortunate enough to spend part of an afternoon with a State Trapper that was visiting my grandfather.
He told me that the most dangerous animals out there in his line of work, were domesticated cattle.

The most rank bull I ever had was was a Jersey. I could tell you stories about him . Finally had enough of him and sent him to the sale. I remember dropping him off and the cowboys at the sale. Remarked damn is he death coming.

One of my herd bulls. Mama hand feeds all 2700 pounds of him. Years ago he lowered his head and shook it at her, I have her an ax handle I keep in ranch truck and told her to do her best to knock him out. She did her best Babe Ruth swing and put one on him. He let out a beller and walked off just thinking. He has never acted out of line since. I still make sure she watches all my cattle. I have a fair share of them and check them most everyday. Work them from horseback in pasture until we get them in the pens and then it’s all chute work. They all know I’m the herd boss. One gets ignorant numerous times it gets sold. Have no time for a mean head and of cattle l. All my Brangus are ranch bred and raised , don’t have any issues with them. Situational awareness and common sense will save a lot of hurting.

A work buddy was almost home the other day and saw a young heifer standing by the road on the wrong side of the fence. He backed up and opened the closest gate, then pulled up in front of the stray. He hadn't taken but a few steps towards her and she went right back thru the 5 strand fence like it wasn't there. She went to the sale barn that week. Most all of his herd is very gentle, but when I help with them, I keep my head on a swivel. Those momma cows are moody as heck.

Never forget the man I met up north of Baby Head. He was using a bucket to reach a heifer and that heifer kicked it out from under him. The fall broke his leg and from then on, everyone called him Bucket.

Count me in as one that would shoot a pit bull way before any bovine.

I would not replace a pit bull if I shot one.
