Me and Dad came up with the idea we wanted to fish some new water so we decided to run out to Cedar Creek to catch some Crappie. I havent been on this lake in over 20 years and I havent Crappie fished this lake in probably 35 years so it was basically a new lake to us. Everything had completely changed out there. Early it was a struggle trying to break down and eliminate unproductive water. We were catching everything EXCEPT Crappie. By 11am I was totally lost and didnt know what to do so we moved closer to the bank and BOOM!...got bit 3 times in a row and on the fourth cast I landed a 12"er. That was the kinda clue I was looking for and we proceeded to put over 100 Crappie in the boat over the next few hours. We quit putting them in the live well because I knew we were getting close to our 2 man limit but we eneded up bringing home 44 really solid fish. Didnt catch any giants but alot of solid 12" fish and a good mix of both White and Black Crappie. Nice! I live on the Caney Creek arm of the lake. I spent all day working in my yard and saw two guys pull a bunch out from under my dock - around 9' of water.

I knew you lived out there but wasnt sure what part of the lake. We launched there at the Caney public ramp and then worked our way north until we found the fish.

Yes, sir. Head up toward Caney creek instead of the main lake, and go past the high-dollar places on your right and into the cheap seats. We are in the last neighborhood, 2.1 miles from that bridge/ramp. No livescope. And based on the way these fish were set up you may not have even been able to see them with livescope. They were not visible with down scan or side scan either.
