Have you found them to be worth the cost? I can build a metal or wooden one at a fraction of the cost, but it will be super heavy and not crash safe.

Gunner is from $550,
Lucky Duck, 499,
Ruffland $400
Dakota 283 $500
Orion $500 (but on sale right now)

What are your thoughts? I have a British Lab and a Setter pup on the way.

I have the intermediate gunner. My lab is approximately #85. It is a snug fit, but with dogs being den animals, I like it in case of a crash. Also all I care to lift in and out of truck. Really sturdy and secure. You can find used at a decent price, but most intermediates are $700.00

I have 2 Ruffland and have been extremely happy with them. Going on 8 years now.

Have a Ruffland and it’s been fine so far (haven’t had to use it much). Luckily, I haven’t had to test it’s crash durability, but I feel better about having one like it that has been tested for such things.
