So I had the brightness and contrast settings too dark, so when they chaos started I lost the black reticle in the dark grey landscape background and realized it as the group was running by with my crosshairs too low. The stalk/ set up on this group was perfect based on the wind direction, the layout of the field, the location of the hogs and the direction they were moving. I shot at the farthest one first hoping to get the group to run from the sound of the bullet smacking the pig and run towards me, which worked out nicely. Still shoulda dropped a couple more from this sounder. Oh well. Thermal Hog Hunt 6 pigs down in Wallis, Tx 03-30-23 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8A_wwipKKs
Fast paced gregarious society forgets the healing power of solitude. It's worked thousands of years. Casting a line/gazing into a campfire/sitting in a blind after a long week is medicine for the soul. The serenity and peacefulness of it all is majestic.

Can't get that video to play...

I can relate to small errors plaguing a hunt with a thermal and DNV. I've had more hunts go bad due to little mistakes than have gone right, actually, but I'm still relatively new to the game. I've had DNV and thermal equipment for several years but opportunities to actually use it remained scarce until more recently. I've learned a few lessons since my nephew bought his property. I got five pigs last time out, about a month ago, so things are looking up. I'll soon taste retirement, too. That should help me get my program together!

Thanks, it's always a pleasure to see hogs taking punishment.

I have two unwritten rules: 1. 2.
