Are there any hoist gambrels that attach to your hitch sturdy and high enough for a nilgai? At my old lease the landowner had a tractor there we would use for that. Got on a new lease this year but doesn't have a good camp area setup with skinning rack or anything..

Most of the manufactured hoists I've seen are light duty and won't be able to handle a 600 lb animal. My buddy has one that was suppose to be rated for 400 lbs and we bent it on a 300 lb pig. I ended up building one myself.

Our stags are a similar size to Nilgai. We just use a tree branch at the height we like and throw a rope and a gambrel over it. Been using the same post oak limb for almost 20 years and it has handled stags over 500lbs.

You could build one very easily. I’d find a friend that welded and buy him a case of beer bring supplies and done.

If you don’t know anyone that will do it I bet a local high school welding class would do it.

outside of weight the biggest issue is length of body. The are just so long legged.

front end loader is best thing. Personally Id just break them down on ground
