Needless to say, a completely different response than what happened in Uvalde.

I don't get it. If the shooter knew the layout of the school and planned it this long why didn't they pick a strong point to engage officers from and to make a last stand at? There had to be at least one or two positions that would give a shooter the upper hand and also allow for a fallback position.

I don't think IT was expecting such a fast police response and was caught off guard in that little nook. I don't think IT even knew the police were in the building and would run directly for the sound of gun fire.

Brave officers and probably saved a lot of lives.

The video should have been released showing the face of the shooter and bloody gore if there was any to show other social misfits what awaits them should they chose to be a copycat. Make it clear it won't be just another video game outcome.

The Uvalde police should watch a video of these 2 officers handling it 100 times then write I will not be a coward 100 times every morning

It should also be shown to every SRO working at any school with the stipulation they should step down if there's any chance they might not be mentally and physically prepared to execute a like response.

I don't understand why they still use Tempered glass in the doors, Laminated glass (Like in your windshield) wouldn't shatter in a heap on the floor. At the least Laminated glass would slow down anyone's entry. It just seems like the ones in charge aren't doing anything to protect these kids. It's a complete failure by everyone involved not to protect the schools.

I could be mistaken but I believe it's required by code. They should at least put a security laminate on it. I tested that stuff out before and even though a rifle shot would break the glass it would take you 5 minutes to kick what's left out of the frame. Years ago there used to be a DPS title office located at the off ramp from 30 and 360 and a friend of mine had a glass company and we had to replace the glass that was there for tempered glass. It was really thick and we wound up having to use very large hammers and a sharpened punch made from drill rod to break it into chunks to get it out of there. I'm sure a rifle bullet would have bounced right off of it.

That body cam footage was intense. I dont know anything about the proper way to respond to something like that but it sure looked like they knew what to do and did it. "Lets go!" "Lets go!" Didnt appear to be any cowards. Good job by the good guys. Prayers to those killed and all their family and friends.

Tempered glass is required by code on just about any exterior door. It breaks into a million little pieces when some genius falls through it rather than cutting their head off.

I wonder if it is time to re-evaluate that risk assessment.

You can bet your bottom dollar that every officer that responded choked down their fear by reminding themselves that they didn't want to be cowards like those guys.

Just got to watch it before YT removed the video. I don't care what motivated those officers...they went in there like men and stopped the evil. Thank the Lord for those guys.
