I have a welding skid that I use to repair fences and gates etc. It weighs ~ 700-800 pounds and I use the tractor pallet forks to transport it around the property. However, when it’s in the shop I needed a better way to move it around. You can see it tucked in the corner under the blue tarp in the background.

I acquired a piece of 1/2” x 40” x 60” steel plate and welded some heavy duty casters on it. I’m very happy with it. It works great.

Next step will be to weld some angle iron guides to help me position it on the pallet when I return from outside. A nice coat of paint might look nice too.

Gawd Dang Money Bags! 1/2" X 40" X 60" would have made a great secondary welding table.

Some 2 1/2" X 1/4" wall tubing welding onto casters, to slip on the ski ends of the skid would have done it.
