I thought the double ejector was put in there just in case one failed, the other should keep it running

I thought the double ejector was put in there just in case one failed, the other should keep it running That is so unimportant in a bolt action, your rifle is still in service with no ejector worming. A non-functioning extractor makes for really bad day though.

I thought the double ejector was put in there just in case one failed, the other should keep it running Now I understand why the Mormons have multiple wives, in case one fails. As I understand it, the location of a single ejector is so that the spent case kicks out the port. That's probably true for the double ejector bolts as well. If I'm right, the failure of one would likely cause the case to eject less than 50% of the time, leaving you to fetch it out manually anyway. I might prefer no ejector over half of what I need.

I only have experience with one double ejector bolt on a 28 Nosler Christensen. Never could get it over 2700 fps with 195s without showing pressure signs. Sold it as I didn't settle on the 28 Nosler to drive it under 3000fps. Moved to a custom built 28 on a BigHorn action and stopped at 3200+ fps with same 195s with no pressure signs. Barrel sped up after 100 shots and finally started showing pressure signs. I haven't taken time to chrono yet, but I bet it's over 3400 fps.
Just a data point for you!

You are standing on the throttle! I know. That was a node under where we didn't find pressure doing the ladder test. I need to get it backed back down and go shoot 1000 with Tony.

Flattened primers flowing out filling up the primer pocket fully? Same thing you get if a chamber is rough enough that pressure in the case grabs the wall of the case after the firing pin drives it forward and there is that little head space room left against the bolt face I would expect with 2 strong plungers and Why one a Remington 700 257 Roberts was showing pressure sighs at very near starting loads. had the plunger spring replaces and no more high pressures with near max loads.
One of our members here a 7mm Nosler show pressures well below max, looking at the case in person, told him to take it to the smith that chambered the rifle and ask the chamber be honed Issue resolved .
One plunger pushes the cartridge out from the bolt face a little and the other side is held back by the extractor so at ignition of the primer the case is pointed to the side away from the plunger but as the cartridge expands it fills that void usually before the bullet exits the case, if not all that work for concentricity is gone down the barrel.

Shooting two Chistiansen Arms rifles this morning. Two ejectors, and they still aren't ejecting. The brass is trying to come out early. So plus $3 Nosler 28 Nosler brass is crashing into the ejection port, and getting the case mouths dented. I still have to reach in and pull the brass put by hand, like a Savage rifle.

Add a 3rd between the first 2. Careful with comments like that you'll be working for Christensen and Fierce before you know it

I looked all over my Christensen and Fierce and can't find 2 ejectors. Can you point them out for me?

I fired 50 rounds today from Christensen rifles, wearing dual ejectors.
90% did not eject. Yes, I said 90%. The spent brass had to be manually taken out of the action by hand. Making a repeating rifle, effectively a single shot rifle. The brass is trying to leave early. It is crashing into the action, failing to eject, denting the case mouths of $3.70 brand new Nosler brass.
Stupid idea. Stupid design.
