When is the judicial system going to start locking these kids up with jail time instead of slapping their hands and telling them don't do that again ?. Seems all the younger kids have a get out of jail card cuz they seem to shoot and walk without any worries !.

A good buddy of mine who is older than me couldn't wait for the youngest of his 2 sons to graduate school from Lamar in 2020 so he could sell his house and move. Said the elementary and middle schools feeding Lamar HS had gone to absolute crap over the years as the neighborhoods worsened. The entire time I've known him, he has never once called it Arlington, always Armpit, TX.

Grand Prairie's not looking so bad compared to Arlington. Both cities are being overrun with new apartment complexes...and not the upscale ones.

No joke. Lamar was one of the "rich" Arlington schools when I was growing up in GP. It has some very nice neighborhoods that feed into it, and now, a lot of bad ones. The delta on demographics there is pretty high.

Around 1984 Arlington voted in section 8 housing and the whole town began to change then. Crime up, the cops got real heavy handed. Democrats started running the city council and mayors office. Today your not supposed to smoke a cigarette closer than 50 feet from a building. Leftist Nazi BS.

Guessing about 6 years ago a good friend of mine living in Wichita Falls with her daughter asked me which University of Texas in the DFW metroplex would be better for her daughter to attend, they were both going to move and live together.

Without hesitation I shared with her UT Dallas for two reasons, main one being safety for them and UT Dallas is rated higher than Arlington, they chose UT Dallas.
It was obvious even 6 years ago that Arlington was heading in the wrong direction.

Funny thing growing up in Oak Cliff we use to make fun of Grand Prairie, stupid kid stuff lile what is Grand about the Prairie, same as Pleasant Grove, Like what is Pleasant about the Grove.
We called Duncanville Donkeyville until it went wet, then it became Drunk & vile.

Yup, have lived in Arlington most of my life, everything went to the crapper when the Dallas Cowboys moved here along with Katrina.

Back in the late 90's I was buying house in Arlington for around 50K and flipping them or rehabbing and selling them, It was going down hill this was mostly off Abrams Street in north arlington

I can only imagine what it has went to 20 plus years later. Sometimes you need to just bite the bullet and move if you can, no need to have to live like that, life is too short.

Actually Abrams is East/Central Arlington, near the Cowboys stadium.

Went to crap around the time Vandergriff was no longer mayor, the beginning anyway. Mayor Greene was the beginning, Cluck even worse. I left Arlington in 92.
