Just bought Springfield XDM Elite 10mm OSP Looking at getting optics for it and found one I like, but want opinions of folks that use optics on your pistol I'm thinking about getting the Holosun HE507K-GR X2 Green Dot Thinking green instead of red because of my eyesight, I'm 63 so these old eyes are not what they used to be Also, I have read the green dot is easier on the eyes than a red dot, something else I don't know for sure since I have never had optics on a pistol
Any help/opinions would be greatly appreciated

First things first-- the XDM Elite 10mm OSP is a full size pistol-- the 507K is designed for slim (single stack) pistols like the Hellcat, G43x etc. If the XDM elite is full size/full frame then go with the 507c-GR X2 is the correct size-- especially if you have old eyes-- you will appreciate the larger window.
The 507c X2 is a fine optic, I think the green or red is a shoot preference, if you can look through both before you buy then do that but both will work just fine. The circle/dot reticle option in the 507 is great as well especially if you are new to shooting pistol mounted optics and really helps the learning curve.
Lastly--- get a good plate (Forward Controls or C&H) and mount it or have it mounted for you properly the first time, witness mark your screws and ENJOY!

Will this ever be used for concealed carry?

I do really like the 509T and there are lots of benefits to a closed emitter system- price point is $80ish in favor of the 507. For the XDM specifically you (OP) will want the OSP model to run a 509T because of the different footprint and mounting style than the open emitter systems. Also- recently learned that there is potential sizing issue with the 509T that are licensed through Primary Arms (ACSS reticles) and they may not fit all 509T plates. All this to say-- 507c is good, if you can make sure to get the right parts the 509T is a great option too-- and I'm going with a 509T on my Staccato.

I have the Holosun 507C on a Sig P320 XTEN and really like it. Did go with a C&H plate. Mount is solid and I put about a hundred rounds through it Sunday with zero issues.

I like the 507c. I probably have 1500-2000 rounds on mine and it’s been fine.
The secret to a long life is to try not to shorten it.

If you have old eyes go look thru some before buying. Handed a 65yr old one of my guns with a red dot and it was comical. Reading glasses on, off, on, off, shaking head, “is it on”?
