We have a couple of feeders set up for a 9PM throw during the off-season for pigs. It's literally a one second throw.

I don't like to stay up too late and we can pretty consistently go shoot them right at 9:00 PM. Drag them off and in bed by 10.

Hour before sunset. On more than one occasion I have finished taking off the dead hog/s what I wanted before dark.

Mine are all set at 7:15 am 4:30 pm and 8:00 pm. 8 seconds each feed time.

Given that I only hunt evenings, I am not throwing corn in the mornings. I usually have my feeder for around dark, and then 2 more times at 30 minute increments, 3 seconds, 2 seconds, and 2 seconds. Basically, I am feeding 3 times in 1 hour and that is it. The feeding is after dark to keep the turkeys from snarfing up all the corn, and they will if given the chance. I have the feeding times spread out so that hungry deer don't come in and eat everything before the hogs are apt to arrive, which has happened. I also have the feeder going off more times to help get the attention of hogs that may be nearby and not know of the feeder. It isn't a foolproof scheme, but seems to help, but mostly just help the non target species not get as much food. However, if the hogs don't arrive, deer, coons, and turkey on the next day will get plenty.
