Pappa's Bro's Steakhouse is my personal favorite. I have been to them all and this is my #1. Highly suggest dry aged filet for steak. Last time I ordered three peppercorn strip which was a mistake. The filet is dry aged for 28 days which gives it a wonderful texture and flavor. Also love their pecan pie, cigar selection and atmosphere. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2023/02/full-33037-382396-ece98ee8_c16f_4866_b596_dbaa3cee5d25.jpeg)

I hear nothing but good to great things about Pappa's Bro's steak house from people who eat out a lot at nice restaurants.

Only filet better than Papas I have had is SW’s at the Wynn in Las Vegas. But it’s very close.

I've had Pappas a couple of times for Xmas Eve dinner and don't remember the sauce all over the filet, is that standard or was it ordered that way? Enjoy their oversized carrot vegetables, about 2lbs.

I think Bob’s on Lemmon is above and beyond the best, with Townhearth being a good #2 with a much better atmosphere. Haven’t been to Pappas but my grandad enjoys it. Personally have never had a good meal at Al Bernaits. Usually go there for my sister’s birthday and everyone else’s food is good, but for one reason or another my chops are usually raw or brown.

My wife and I really enjoyed the food and service at Pappas. But, the dress code was way too casual there. There was a group of people who came in wearing swimsuits and swimsuit coverups and tank tops with pool flip flops. That dumpy part of town is a weird place to put a high-end steak house. When I'm paying several hundred dollars for a meal, I want it to feel a little more dressed up.
We don't actually go to a lot of steak houses anymore because I've perfected cooking steaks with sous vide at home. But, give me Al Biernat's or Town Hearth as best in Dallas. Food, service, and atmosphere as a whole are way better than Pappas.

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

Like others it will usually be something we don’t make at home. At Pappas it is the rack of lamb. Delicious.
As for steak houses, we like Ricks in McKinney.

If you cook steaks to good to eat out try the Pork Chop at Perry’s. I don’t even care for pork chops and it’s one of the best things I ever ate

Looks good, have only eaten there once and the food was great. Biggest issue I had was it was so damn loud in there I felt like I was at a college party. If I'm eating at a nice place I don't want to have to yell at the table to talk to the folks I'm eating with.

Agree, the wood paneling and number and proximity of tables and booths make it quite loud. Definitely all about the eating there..

The filet is dry aged for 28 days which gives it a wonderful texture and flavor. They take a nice steak like that and smother it with gravy?
