This past year I replaced my plasma table. The old one needed refurbished, it had 7 years of wear and tear from me and a few employees learning what not to do on it. It came with an integrated water bladder system. Basic summary, there’s a bladder under the bottom of the cutting area, with an air valve up at the top. Fill it with air, and it pushes the water out the bottom holes up into the cutting surface. Let the air out and it goes back in, it’s nice to have for digging for small parts and saving your water from evaporation when not in use. Problem Is, plasma cutting creates lots of acid, which had in turn rotted the bladder from the inside out. This go around I went with a different brand that just had a water pan, I had them add me a second 2” nipple to it and this is what I came up with for an external bladder:

The water pan on the table is 62”x122”x3”, translates to 98 gallons. The bladder is 47”x47”x13”, or 124 gallons. We put the legs on one side to help utilize more of the water, if it laid flat it would have started blowing bubbles before the table got full.

The top holes are 3/4” for the air supply line, and 2” for the air drain line. I wanted it to drain pretty quick.

There are 2 2” bungs on the end down low that feed the table. We necked it down to 1.5” and used some flex hose to make them fit up.

The air and drain lines we ran to the wall. 3/4” pex is what I’ve got the whole shop plumbed with so we stayed with that for supply, and 1.5” pvc for the air drain. I went ahead and rain the drain through the wall, sometimes the additives we put in the water smells kinda funky so I didn’t want it crop dusting us every time we lowered the water level.




Then I drew this up and had it powder coated to hide it all. Came out pretty slick
