This probably isn’t the kind of idea you were hoping for, but I heard a good one the other day. When you’re done frying bacon, pour the grease into a cup or bowl lined with tin foil. Let the grease cool and set, then just pick up the tin foil. No dish washing and you don’t have that annoying cup or old grease sitting by the oven.

Grandmother always had a Crisco can on the stove for bacon drippings.

I buried 4" PVC filled with can goods, Buried 6" PVC filled with rice & beans along with a few bottles of alcohol in trenches out at our place for shtf. Dug one up that's been out there for ten years, everything in it looked and tasted like it was just bought today.
