Ordered last September. I have heard, you can call the ATF, go through all the phone robots, give the serial number and they can tell you where you are in line.
TRUE/ FALSE ???

Don't bother them Buzz...if you haven't been notified then it's in process and that is all they will tell you. You need to forget about it...stuff seems to be running longer than 5 months anyway. Let them do their jobs instead of answering phone calls from impatient people.

I purchased several on 5/9/22 and got stamps in between 1/25/23 & 2/6/23. Going off this if you ordered in September you have about 4 months to go if they keep up the same pace.

Checking on a suppressor is like watching for water to boil. Forget you ever bought it, then be delighted when you get the confirmation notification.

there was some Scheels induced confusion when I bought it. long story. Had $800 in reward cards, that's why I bought it there.

The original claims of being able to get them back in 30-60 days don’t seem to happen often. Forget you ever bought it, then be delighted when you get the confirmation notification. Yup

By the time you get through to the right person who actually cares enough to find the answer to your question, you'll probably already have the suppressor in hand. Your biggest challenge is going to be not selling the gun you plan to use the can on before it comes in...

I'm really checking that Scheels even got it in the system. I'm a worrier, you know this. You and Judd might call it something else, but I'll stick with "a worrier"

ok boy's, here's the story. FIRST, SCHEEL'S SUCKS FOR BUYING SUPPRESSORS !!!! FREEEEKIN IDIOT LADY. It's 9/6/22 1. Go to Scheel's to buy the Dead Air Nomad TI can using my $800 in reward cards. 2. She brings one out and we start the process. Fill out form 4, do fingerprints, take my picture. Pay my $200 stamp fee and the $999 for the can, All done, RIGHT? I glance down on the counter and notice a "price tag" for $849. I ask her did she use this tag to write up my can. She said YES!!!!!!! I tell her this is not MINE. So she goes and gets the tag for my can and says HUMMM, we have to cancel the whole she-bang and start all over. Well, I was pizzed but I was nice and said OKAY let's do it. We go through the ENTIRE process again, of course the fingerprint pad is not working right, so I have to reprint my sausage fingers. OK, all done. I get my receipt, laugh about how long it will be till I get it and go home. a few days pass and I get an email from the ATF with the "withdrawn" form. I think, okay, this is the one she killed and my new one is still in the system. I WORRY for a couple weeks, jack around the worthless efile website, then go back to Scheels and ask some dumbazz to make sure my form is in. He looks it up, gets another employee to double check, They say ALL IS GOOD. I go home and continue my year long wait. This brings us to this post. I called the ATF with the number above. I'm on hold 15 minutes, talk to a nice lady, She finds where it was withdrawn and my $200 tax fee returned to SCHEELS, oh, and the second form is NOT IN THERE !!!!!!!!! I'm headed to Scheels tomorrow morning and TRY not to dog cuss the whole bunch of AHOLES and get my money back, go to Rifle Gear buy it where at least I can use it there while I wait another year and miss having it for hunting season. YES I'M PIZZED. stay tuned, if you don't get my follow up tomorrow, you know I'm in REAL " jail".

That’s why I asked…had you answered yes…I would’ve said there is an email you get from the atf showing your submission. If you didn’t get the email or it’s not in your spam…they didn’t file.
I’m personally not a fan of the retailers sending the payments on our behalf, because before we get a cashed check.
That blows Buzz…

Wow, that is terrible. What happened to the payment you gave them for the $200???
That was the good thing about the old paper method, the first thing you did was look for the check to come through so you know they received it.

Okay, just got home from Scheels, spoke with their top dog in the gun department.. He took my info and went in the back for about 10 minutes. He came out with a copy of the "submitted" form with the correct serial number.
I got home and called the ATF, the guy who helped me, FOUND it and it is pending which is a good thing.
Scheels was great. VERY concerned for my satisfaction. He could read my "frustration."
ATF sux for not emailing me the "submitted" form copy.
So, crisis avoided, although "pending" still means a long wait.
carry on
