MSA around $250 with the gel cups are the best I’ve used and found.

Get the rechargeable ones. They last a long time and you won't have to pay for batteries.

I have THESE as well. The microphone works well, the range of adjustment is good, and they have an aux port if you want to listen to music, etc.

Pass the gravy.

I like the Howard Leight's, but aftermarket Gel pads make an even better seal. Auto-shutoff saves battery life.

One thing often overlooked: Electronic muffs amplify soft sounds while suppressing loud noises. This is a handy feature if you hear something go bump in the night and need to investigate. You won't be deaf if you are forced to pull the trigger.

Thanks for tuning in. They are expensive but worth it if you shoot. I have many 8 hour days with them

What makes them so much better? Genuinely curious.

Marc

Comfort is the biggest difference. Slimmer profile for sure. Way easier to get a cheek weld with these than any other over the ear muffs I have tried. IMO it has a noticeably better microphone sound transmission at low db but improved noise cancelation when needed at high db’s. But the comfort is by far the biggest difference.

Very well said. I 100% agree.

I am very happy with my Walkers but haven’t tried anything else. They have Bluetooth, which I have determined is useless. I have used it for phone calls and music. In both cases it’s not worth the squeeze (low quality audio) and a unit half the price would make me just as happy.

They do kick [censored] on the lawn mower for noise cancellation. If their audio was better I would be very happy with them.

Thank you. I have been very happy with the comfort and sound with my Leights - with aftermarket gel pads. But if the acoustic performance is much better clamping the high end, then that might be worth it.

Marc

I think noise perception is subjective. Kind of like finding the best hunting boot. What works or perceived favorable by someone may not be for the next person. It's a big investment. Like I said above, I have the Howard Leights with the aftermarket gel earpiece and the Sordins. I haven't gone back to wearing the Howards since buying the Sordins.

Sort of like the quietest suppressor bolt

I have the HL's impact but I don't have the gel cups...but now I'm going to get them because my wife wears those when she goes to the range. Thanks ringworm and Marc...I never even thought about gel cups for those.

I just wish my Walker Razors had auto shutoff. I am constantly running down the batteries by forgetting to turn them off.
