Is there any powder that is temp stable between Varget and H4350?

That would be where I'd start. I'd also add RL15 in that group...it's more sensitive than both Varget and H4350 but very manageable, problem is it's dirty. Some charts show it faster than Varget but in my experience with a couple different lots it's slower than Varget.

I will add a couple more
N540 it’s more stable than Reloder 15
The new Reloder 15.5 may be the best in that range.
PP2000 MR is pretty good too.

No problems with Big Game or RL16, ever.

If you want some Big Game, I have about a pound and 3/4. My 30-06 just didn't like it as well as another powder.

Interesting. The lower the number the less sensitive? Where'd you find this?

IIRC, a well known gunwriter tested Re16 at some very low temperatures and found that it actually gained a little velocity in extreme cold. I'd be hard pressed to find that, but my memory usually retains stuff like that correctly. The one thing to remember, though, is that a powder might demonstrate very good temp tolerance in one cartridge but not in another cartridge.

If I’m understanding it correctly Varget for example will gain 19 fps in a 100° temperature gain.

Although it says degrees per fps. I think it’s fps per degree.

It is fps per degree. Degree, ambient increase.

I have this chart printed and in a clear sheet, in my book.

I think it's a great reference, and holds lots of truth. However, I would think the fps gain would vary from cartridge to cartridge, and vary from bullet to bullet within each cartridge.

But those 5 on the top left, as well as H-Retumbo are all powders I rely on.
