Lots of work, but fastidious prep!

Lot of work. I know a fella here in Texas that's got trapping down to better science and heck of a lot easier.

All that handling stressing the animal can't be good for the meat and too much trouble. Seems like it would be better to just stick it with a boar spear and be done with it instead of all the snares to immobilize it and tie it up to transport.

I agree. That's one stressed hog. I didn't see the whole video but unless he is going to pen that hog and let it settle down the meat is likely to be on the gamey side. Slaughter houses spend a lot of time and planning to keep animals as relaxed as possible.

I'll give him credit for hunting in a county that doesn't think its citizens are worth defending themselves. That's a positive step in my view.

Poor boy needs to move to Texas. Any one of us would have shot, dragged, skinned and quartered that pig in less than 1/8th of the time it took him.

I know it's just a hog but good lord. Deserves a quick and humane death.

I'm with you on that. He made it way too much work.

It's Japan.

No guns are not allowed for the most part. You need police permission to keep a knife over 6" in your home, forget about carrying one around on your belt. The longest blade he could probably carry is 6 centimeters a little less than 2 1/2".

That's probably why the guy doesn't run up and stab it. He could slit it's throat once he got it immobilized a bit i guess. But the way he does it, bringing the pig home alive, then killing it is probably due to the Japanese knife and gun laws.

That was my thought as well.

When I lived in Arizona, we lived 2 miles from the Auction house. (now Closed) they ( the Japenese) bought ALL of the wild horses. The bigger and more savage the horse was the more they paid and wanted it. I have noticed that gaminess does not seem to be an issue. They like strong tasting fish (Carp among others) and wild horses that would kill you if they could, definitely died with a struggle. They eat dolphins herded into a bloody cove (videos online) So the hog processing does not surprise me at all. I think they veiw wild tasting as more virile and healthy, They paid top dollar for the wild horses and would not consider bidding on a ranch raised horse.
