How big is this bear? I guess this question could for anyone but l always enjoy reading about your bear hunts and l feel like you should receive the “THF Bear Hunting SME” title…And for awareness this pic was taken in Oklahoma at one of my best friends Ranch
I little hard to say with any certainty. How high is the bottom of the feeder off the ground? Or alternatively how many gallons does that feeder hold? It's a fatty for sure gonna say somewhere from 350 to 500 lbs. Answers to the questions above would narrow it down. Small chance it could be bigger but guessing that feeder is maybe 30 gallons. Makes me think the bear body is about 60 gallons. At say 7 lbs a gallon for the bear that gives me 420 lbs. Definite shooter.
55 gallon drums are very helpful in determining size. If bears shoulders are level with an upright drum and he can eat off the top of the drum without lifting his head/body that he is big and quite likely pushing 500+ pounds. Top of an upright drum for reference is 33 inches.
