Gotta give a shout out to our local BBQ shack in Payne Springs, TX. They have been here for almost 2 years and just keep on getting better. I first started buying BBQ from them when they just had a smoker trailer with killer BBQ on the side of the road. They quickly moved into the little building across the road from Fat Mans Fireworks. (not Vickey's, but right across street). The food there is always great and the folks that run it have become friends of mine & my wife's. They are good folks. Tell them Kevin sent ya. Also I should note, they have the best bacon Cheeseburger and breakfast burritos on the lake too!

Thank you, sir - I will check it out. I have always had the best luck with small places. I gave up on Vickey's a while back when the mediocre days outnumbered the good days. I have an office/shop building right there behind the golf cart place. I drive by it several times per week but never even paid attention to it. Now I will!

A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.

Jim and Ann are good folks. Vickeys is terrible, have you ever noticed smoke coming out of there? nope. BBQ cooked in an oven isn't BBQ. Try his ribs, they are crazy good. Make sure he gives you some bbq sauce, it's great.
