What is the best hole in the wall burger joint along 281 south of Lampasas and north of San Antonio?

Bill's Burgers, Wings and Things ... 2 blocks west of 281 on the north side of hwy 29 at Hamilton Creek. Hand made burger patties, daily fresh cut fries and onion rings .... a 1/2 order of either is plenty for one person. I prefer the Swiss and mushroom with fresh grilled jalapenos. Good stuff!!!

Storm's is a solid burger.

There’s a location in Lampasas and Burnet on 281.

Storm's in Burnet is about 4 blocks north of hwy 29 on the west side of 281. That is the original burger joint called Buster's from back in the 50s-80s before Storms bought them out and remodeled. Storms in Lampasas is on the east side of 281/183 kinda middle of town. They are known for the Storm's special which is a 1/2# triple meat burger with fresh cut fries, which was one of my go-to burgers for many years ... I think Bill's (mentioned above in Burnet) is better, but that's my opinion.

Used to love the burger at Antler's Cafe in Bulverde right along 281. I belive they relocated to the east of 281. I assume they are still around, but if anyone knows and can comment on their food quality it would be appreciated.

No one goes there because it is too crowded.

Storm’s in Lampasas and Burnet for sure!
Bill’s in Burnet a few blocks off 281 on hwy 29 is also very good. They had a location in Lampasas but it looked like another restaurant had taken its place when I drove through there last month.

yep, the Bill's in Lampasas closed due to manager medical issues and finding reliable workers. The one in Burnet is very solid.

This business of not being able to find qualified help is a serious matter for a lot of independent restaurants/FF joints. Our local BBQ has greatly curtailed hours because the owner can't find enough help, says the sign on the door.

I think every kid should work at a restaurant. 3 of our 4 listened to me. I bussed tables at a Mexican Food place before I could drive. 'Waited tables and cooked all through college. What little "people skills" I possess, I learned a lot of them from dealing with ALL kinds of people in a restaurant setting.

I spent a miserable Father's Day supper at Pecan St. in Johnson City, and it had absolutely nothing to do with Pecan St. up After the manic son-in-law left, with by baby girl, right after they announced that they were moving to Florida (my gift was an American Airlines gift card, which I could never get American Airlines to honor, for anything), I got gloriously drunk, the most I'd been on beer in many, many years, and worst to date (on beer). He's a miserable little [censored]. Thanks for the memories! grin
