So I'm in Sam's Club, and looking at the meat counter. I go down to the section where all the Prime cuts are, and check out the steaks. I see this, so call the butcher over, and ask WTH?? Yep, they take Prime ribeyes at $19.98, open the packages and rub down with olive oil, season with Montreal Steak seasoning, and repackage and set right back next to the regular ones. Thing was, they repackaged them all at $9.98/lb. I bought all six that they had; he wouldn't do anymore, once he saw the problem!! . Muy Good!! ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2023/02/full-22567-379569-img_3755.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2023/02/full-22567-379571-img_3776.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2023/02/full-22567-379572-img_3783.jpeg)

Looks like they basically reduced them for quick sale. Montreal Steak Seasoning was and still is the go-to rub for reduced meats in my meat market and many others. Looks like they re-packaged it and gave it one day of shelf life. I always said that I blessed it and gave it one more day. Good find.

Yep - I buy up ripe/discounted steaks like that too every chance I get! They'll remain good in the freezer long before I'll eat them all up. Amazing find for prime!

That is the exact oil and rub I use on every at home steak I do (If I am buying, they are ribeyes), and I use the same oil and rub on the grilled vegetables.
Great Job!

They came out wonderful, and there was plenty for tonight. Added a couple dozen sautéed shrimp to make sure I didn't leave the table hungry!!!
