I haven't "spanked" my son in years until today

He is normally a good kid, real good kid actually

I mean he is 15 but he got grabbed and swatted earlier...the wife said I should have punched him lol it was more of a reaction followed by verbal lashing

Am I the only hold out? I rarely hear of it anymore

More than I wish I had to. I have a dedicated wooden spatula just for my boys. My little girl just needs to be threatened with it and she learns from her mistake

I got my last one when I was 14. I still have no clue what for though.


Usual weapon was my dad's leather belt. And if mom had to spank me, dad had to spank me too when he got home from work.

My girl cries if I look at her sideways. My boy might be a different story. I got the Tony Lama morr than a couple times and know it works.

Yep I spank my son. Wish I didn’t have to because I feel like an [censored] after but it’s about the only discipline he responds to. We tried all the talking, time out, taking toys way none of it worked. But boy you swat his butt a few times and he turns back into the perfect angel he normally is.

That sounds like my oldest niece (8). If my sister even slightly gets on to her, crocodile tears. Beem that way since she was 4 or 5... my nephew on the other hand, you can break your hand on his butt and he won't cry.

Spanking teaches kids a quick and simple lesson in both responsibility and accountability. There is a price to be paid for that which you are responsible.

Ive had this allergy deal for 2 solid days and we have an outside cat/barn cat

The wife issues days of reprieve for this cat...maybe 3-4 days a year and today must have been one...

I said man that cat is killing me, get it out of here and I could tell my son took it pissy taking it out

So he grabs the cat and tosses it out like trash, prob 6-7 feet in the air out the front door

MF triggered me, we don't treat animals badly (even tho I don't like the cat) around here and boom, lt went down....

I don't tolerate that but its been awhile

They all caught or still catch some. I don't recall passing out whoopins past 13 years old though. I'm not overly strict. I think they're just overly well behaved compared to me.

Wife knocked the crap of our 16 year old boy the other day for being smart, he won’t do that again lol

Some kids need it, others don’t.

When I was about 15-16 me and my old man almost came to blows. If it wasn’t for the fact he was sick and had MS he would have beat my [censored].

I think there comes a time in some father/son relationships where it can come to that.

I only have daughters and I think at times that it’s a really good thing…

I haven't spanked my boy in years. Not that I'm against it at all. I spanked when he was younger. He's 14 now, and still has a healthy amount of respect for my authority, which is why I haven't had to spank lately. Last time I spanked one of the girls was maybe 8 mos ago, however, my wife went to town on the oldest girl 2 nights ago. She deserved it, and I would've done it myself if my wife didn't beat me to it.

Let me say that there were a few times growing up I stood up eating dinner, however I resented it then put all in all I learned to respect my parents & elders .

Never spanked my daughters, just couldn’t bring myself to do it. Fortunately, they’ve rarely deserved much, if any, discipline.

My parents spanked me all the time and I damned sure deserved it.

If I had boys like me, I’d wear them out.

Kids need discipline. All 4 of mine have had spankings, but haven't had to in a while. I am thankful that all 4 of mine are excellent kids and are rarely a problem for us. But, we also are very involved and dedicated parents so I don't think it is by accident.

Yes my future children will be disciplined and not just talked to.

Spank them early so you don't have to spank them late.

My best friend had an older brother by 2 years, probably the best all around athlete in our school...real stocky kid this is around 1998

So I had spent the night at his house and his mom was cooking breakfast for all of us, me, my friend, brother and dad

The older brother kept complaining about how long it took, what she was cooking he didn't like, etc and his dad had warned him to keep his mouth shut

Well, he found out...lol ole dad snuck out a wooden spoon about his 3rd complaint and whacked him like a man would to the side of his face at the table

I wasn't beeching but after that, I never would

Ill never forget that

My parents never spanked me.

But I spanked our three for acts of willful defiance only.

And never when I was angry.
