Anyone have a recommendation as to what's the best saw blade to buy for chop saws? The one's I buy at HomeDepot don't seem to last very long.

I pretty much refuse to buy any type of abrasive blade other than Dewalt.

Evolution Steel Cutting Blades work great until you get up to 11ga. abrasive Dewalt is what I normally buy for thicker stuff

I have had good luck with Evolution and Benchmark blades.

Get a toothed steel blade and turn the speed down. Thank me later. Run coolant if you can. Abrasive blades are caveman and I fix stuff with a hammer, bailing wire, and duct tape.

I gave my Dewalt abrasive one away. The SOB wouldn't cut a straight edge even with light pressure. Was trying to cut purling to 45 degrees and looked like a second grader did it. Used a speed square to set up 45 degree angel and cuts were still off.

Get you a new saw that uses the blades with teeth. Better cuts, faster, very little heat, blades last a lot longer, what’s not to like?

I guess I don't use mine enough to justify expensive blades, I just buy a couple of the cheaper ones from HD and they last me a long time. I am mostly cutting 1-2" square tubing.

I buy the three pack at Tractor Supply. They seem to last as long as any. If you do a lot of cutting I would recommend using a mask and have a fan blowing the dust away from you. The eyes and nasal cavities will feel better.

They all suck. If you can stand it, upgrade to a dry cut chop saw like the evolution or even the Ironton from Northern Tool. And don’t put toothed blades on your abrasive saw, it will chunk teeth possibly into your jugular. Someone above suggested turning the speed down, it’s great in theory but you lose your torque. Best to get a saw that’s geared to the correct speed

I have Both evolution Carbide teeth saw and Milwaukee abrasive saw. Evolution is tons better. Good straight and angled cuts.
Just dont slam it down into steel to cut. Go slow and its great and much faster that abrasive.
