He certainly was. It was a real hoot, gave me hope for Texas. Definitely not the Round Rock man-bun crowd. Ol 603 and his neighbor are stand up fellas. 7:15 hog is on ice in the garage waiting to be turned into porky goodness, sausages, and other delicacies are in his future.

Well, from the 8:11 pic on my camera, we didn’t get the real 7:15 hog. The one we got did seem a bit small. Guess who’s back.

I’ll try for him tonight. Neighbor also has pics on that pig and says he’ll go 225. I doubt it, but I do have a scale. Maybe we’ll get to find out.

If the hogs disappeared, like they do sometimes, I have to admit that I’d be disappointed, regardless of how I gripe about hogs. Shooting paper just doesn’t have the same satisfaction. Plus, shot-up targets don’t work as coyote bait. Dead pig do…

Good luck! So hard to tell on trail cams, but I'd guess he breaks the 200# mark pretty handily. No more 'off-season' for me....it's pig season!

Yeah, my farmer/rancher Father-in-Law used to say "Where there's one pig there are two pigs, and where there are two pigs there are a lot of pigs"!

I'm sure he didn't come up with this, but a biologist once told me, "they give birth to a litter of 5 or 6 piglets, and 7 usually survive"

Left the barn about 6:15, heading for the stand, got about 30 yards and a hog on the other side of the net wire fence was snorting and making a racket. Scared the crap out of me. Another 100 yards and I was on a wooded path and walked up a hog. Scared the crap out of me. Then another hog went to grunting, on the same side of the fence with me. Creepy. Got to say that it seemed like a good night to hunt. Hogs everywhere…

It’s possible I have more hogs than I thought. I sure thought I was making a dent in the population. Silly me.

My FIL always used to say, no matter how many we killed, you couldn't tell we were missing any.

In the dark and pretty close and you have some mean ones; sounds like it's time to carry the scatter gun with some 4 buck and shoot em in the face. I've seen the brush around there I'd be totting my ancient 835 mossberg with some 3 & 1/2 " medicine. I would say you do have a ton of hogs in the area it's just too nice for em out there.

I just relocated last night’s hog. Last night I just left him where he fell, so I had to move him to the boneyard this morning. He didn’t look that big in the Wraith scope, but he sure looked big this morning. Not gonna weigh him, but he’s a whopper. The pic doesn’t do him justice,

It was a fun afternoon, pig dragging, skinning, processing, and drinking beer. And telling stories…
