I was looking for something more reliable than just taping or wrapping the bases and I did figure something out. I am going to cover the bases with DAP Seal 'N Peel and just peal it off after the peroxide soak.

TIA I use a cotton ball in forceps with cream peroxide, you can push it right up to the burrs. Cover with saran wrap for 24 hrs and hose off, I don't make any attempt to cover anything and have never had an issue.
