Hmm. Maybe. Or maybe we ought to put one of yours on the ground with one of mine in wild bird country. We could talk about who has what after they run at least 1/2 a day and not be talking out of our asses.
Nice pup, not sure how I missed this post. Do you prefer slicks, which I would understand, or is that just the roll of the dice? How long were you on a waiting list?
Thank you Larry. Yes it is not an accident that both of mine are tight coated dogs. To the best of my knowledge it may have been around a year and a half. I was not on an official list but I wanted a pup out of that particular pairing if it occurred.
Still coming along. I like the way this pup is running. Picture is of a point this morning. Pointing from distance with his head up in the wind. I’m kinda liking the flat tail level with the back line. That has not changed since the very first bird he pointed.
Thanks y’all. I had been shooting some for him and things really clicked once he figured out how to get paid. Fall and wild bird season for the real education to start can’t get here soon enough. I full well expect he will lose his mind the first time I get him in a bunch of wild birds running out from under his points.
Looks like you have a firecracker on your hand too Kindall. I see you are in spring. Maybe one day we will run into each other. I am just a couple hours north of there.
The New one is about a year old now. He is coming along nicely. A few pics of what I have been up to with him. His first season is just getting going but we are off to a good start. He still has a lot to learn about handling running upland birds but is showing some talent and I like him. Dove
👍 Wow. I missed this. With a pup that looks like this you’re going to be the only one that notices a flat tail. His points are spot on. My GWP had a flat tail. They don’t find a bird with their tails. Beautiful pup. Great timeline.
