See anything that suits your fancy?

Savage’s new Stevens 334 Walnut appeals to old timers like me. Not sure anyone can offer one with a Walnut stock that costs a lot less.

If only Ruger offered their new Marlin 1895 Guide Gun in a caliber that’s lighter and cheaper on the shoulder.

None of them really scream gotta have to me, at the bottom of that link there is the same article but about handguns. None of which look very awesome either. The CZ DWX looks pretty awesome, but at 2K I won't be buying one.

Wondering if some of these MSRP's are inflated right now, they all seem pretty expensive.

The Stevens rifle reminds me of the old Savage 340s. I had one in .30-30 that was a lot of fun to shoot. Maybe they'll chamber it some classic cartridges like that down the road.

The guide gun, by definition, is a thumper. If you read the article, they are bringing back the 336 in 30/30 for your soft shoulder.

I was so pumped to get mine (https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/8605611/marlin-1895).

And I'm on the list for the 1895 SBL. Maybe the soon-to-be-released 336 (.30-30 Win and .35 Rem) is more appealing to you. I'd get one but don't have a need.

Yes, they should start appearing on store shelves in the coming months.

It's the cost of the ammo and the fact it's range matches my shooting skills that makes the 30/30 attractive to me.

The Hungarian SVD imports are cool, I'm sure they'll be very expensive though. Nice to increase supply though.

The two videos I saw of people actually shooting it said it was less felt recoil than a .223. The type of recoil action has been used for years on Benelli shot guns, the Remington Model 11, the Browning Auto 5, and the Barret .50 cal. It is a very reliable system. Barret .50 cals are used by the military as sniper rifles, although they are not as accurate as the bolt actions. I think for a hog hunting gun, where fast follow up shots on multiple pigs are needed, it would be great.

Our Barrett 50 was a 3-4 inch MOA gun. So yeah, no where even close to its bolt action counterpart. The other weapons you mentioned are all vastly different than a rifle caliber in both recoil & accuracy.
