Coming to your Chevrolet dealership near you later this year. All wheel drive, 0-60 in 2.5 seconds
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

Meh...... I guess the 'Market' will tell if it was a good idea or not. All wheel drive is a winner, but that's about it (as far as I am concerned). 2.5 seconds (acceleration) 0-60 mph time. OK. But the Z06 does it in 2.6 seconds. 1/4 mile times are identical. Eray has about 655 hp (combined), Z06 has 670 hp all the time. Eray should outperform on the 'track' but how many folks take their Vette to the track. Z06 is more vehicle than most can handle on most roads. IDK....guess I'm too old school. Maybe it will be a hit. Amazing technology....in any case, got to give it that.

Took my C8 in for it's first service today. The sales guy I spoke to said there are people waiving stupid cash in their face to get on the list to get one of these. The release of the Z06 was a joke and GM is still have parts and supply chain issues so I can only imagine what a cluster the Eray release will be.

What's not to like? At first, I thought it was all electric, witch would be a problem because it wouldn't sound like a Corvette, but no, it still has a V8 for the back axle. If I were going to buy a Corvette, that would be the one.

I’d rather go with the Z06 as well… they sound so mean. When does the ZR1 and Zora come out?

Tesla plaid is half a second faster to 60. They should have called this abortion the 2024 Corvette gusick edition.

I like the idea of one electric motor per wheel, even if just the front wheels and gas engine powers the rear. Honda did this years ago in Formula 1, through a fancy computer and gobs of information, the car could detect maximum power at each wheel necessary to launch itself out of and into corners. It was quite amazing to the point the other teams fought to get it banned, and succeeded.
I think it would really make the Z06 a much more spirited track car

The Z06 is a top notch track car, but I would rather drive a lot of other cars on a public road. The Z06 rides too rough for public roads. It does that to handle the horse power, witch is far more power than you can actually use on a public road. Unless you are taking trips to a track, the standard Sting Ray is all the car you can actually use, and it might be more fun to drive because you can rev the engine more before you run out of space. With a Z06, you can only use half the power on the highway. On a public road, you will use more of the available power of the Eray than the Z06 because of the all wheel drive. That's why I would get the ERay over the z06, but I would probably buy a 4wd version of the Sting Ray over either, if it were offered.

If I were going to buy a Corvette, that would be the one. A range of 3 to 4 miles on all electric (Stealth Mode). lmao Hell, the only people who can be serious about owning any damn all electric car right now are those that live in the city and don't care about taking it out of town on trips. My cousin bought a new electric Ford truck. It came in about a month ago. It is supposed to have a range of about 250 miles. hahaha lmao.....not hardly. Maybe if you drive it 55-60 mpg, don't use the headlights or AC.....and don't drive uphill! He tried taking it from his house near Garden Ridge to his coast house on the island (about 180 miles) and had to stop in a parking lot to charge it for 1.5 hours just to get there! Thank God he brought his small Honda generator along on the trip because he would have been screwed otherwise! When they refine these electrics to cover 500-600 miles under normal driving conditions, I may start to think about it!
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

The E-Ray will not only be the first hybrid Corvette, but also the first all-wheel-drive model. It'll be able to operate solely on electricity in its "stealth mode," which also makes it the first silent Corvette. Undoubtedly a good thing if you live in a neighborhood with a finicky HOA, or just don't want to wake up your family before an early morning drive. This vehicle does NOT require stopping at a charging station...ever.

The major problem with EVs is the limitation of battery technology. They're pretty much a one-trick pony and because of how the batteries heat up internally those super fast numbers that they frequently quote can't be backed up repeatedly the way you can do in a gasoline powered vehicle. I have a Porsche that can run the same numbers through an entire tank of gas or until I blow the clutch up and I have a Mazda RX-7 that makes it a little over 700 horsepower at the wheels that you can hold at Full Throttle through an entire tank of gas without harming it or it slowing down one iota. That statement is somewhat deceptive because it can suck down a tank of gas (c16 race gas) in about 12 minutes at Full Throttle.

I understand all of this I don't understand what the hell good an electric option is if the range is so short?! I don't understand why you wouldn't want to here the rumble of that engine each every time you start it up?! Hell, that to me is one of the best things about having a big time fast sports car!!

I can't imagine anyone would want to silently drive across town in a front wheel drive Corvette, but it would be usefully if you just want to back back it out of the garage without starting the engine. That's not supposed to be the sellibg point of the electric motor. The point of the electric motor is to provide power to the front wheels.

I can't imagine anyone would want to silently drive across town in a front wheel drive Corvette, . Well....if you need to sneak into the driveway after a night out with the boys. Then again....a married man probably couldn't afford it.

I'm pretty sure the "stealth mode" is a marketing/sales gimmick. They had to show the "ah cool" feature somehow.

I don't understand why you wouldn't want to here the rumble of that engine each every time you start it up?! Hell, that to me is one of the best things about having a big time fast sports car!! The EV part is basically a nitrous bottle with a switch. Even once you apply power through the drive train it's still takes a measurable amount of time for the chassis to respond and for the car to start moving. It also takes a little bit for the engine to respond and to pick up revs. Because of all this it's really difficult to get a car into the sub 3 second range for 0 to 60. The electric motors give just enough extra umph to get the car rolling and accelerating faster.

Why would anyone need to get from 0 to 60 in less than 3 seconds?

I'd buy one given the chance. Simply to resell. You can't buy one with employee discount, not an available discount I was gonna buy a vette few years ago to drive for a couple years and then sell it, went to website and this vehicle doesn't fall under the program.

I'd buy one given the chance. Simply to resell. GM has that figured out. They will probably do the same as they are doing with the Z06…if you sell sooner than 6 months after purchase then the factory warranty is voided.
