We.bought some reloading stuff from an estate sale. One of the things was a sealed, unopened bottle of IMR 4451. I understand it has been discontinued but does anyone know anything about it or what it is used in? TIA
some people like silver and gold I like brass and lead with a little powder in between

Fair substitute for H4350. It was the end all to be all at first. At least when 4350 wasn’t available.

Most common used in 30-06 and derivatives like the .270 Win. Similar to H4350 in application.

4451 is a very good powder. I used to use it a lot. It's very near IMR and H4350 burn rate. They discontinued all the Enduron line of powders, then they decided to bring some of them back, like IMR 8133. I'm not sure on some of the other one's, but they are bringing a few back. Which one's and when is the million dollar question.
