Cost is the big downside. A lot great presses available that will produce just as precise ammo for 1/2 to 3/4 the Co-Ax price.

The hoop for the handle needs to be taller for Hornady micrometer seating dies.
Changing from small to large case head jaws takes a couple minutes. But it's not so bad.
Oter than that, I am very glad I made the purchase. Hornady lock rings on all dies, means swapping dies is a snap. Owning about 100 different dies, that is very important. No more getting the rotation of the die just so, in order to get the same setting as last time they were used. Slide the die in the press and get to work.
The best press on the market as far as I'm concerned.

My bullet puller and primer pocket swaging dies won't work on my co-axe so I kept my RCBS press for that purpose. I like my co-axe but not sure it makes more precise loads.
I was wrong...on anything technical. Fitz............. is right, ya know............

The best press on the market as far as I'm concerned. I’ll never use Hornady dies so that’s not a negative for me. I have two coax presses so I don’t have to change the jaws.

Agree. Only thing Id add is RCBS Micrometer dies are too tall for the handle as well. I'd look on the used market for one to save a hundred or more dollars. Don't see them come up for sale on here much but I do on other sites. Seen one right before Christmas for $300. The hoop for the handle needs to be taller for Hornady micrometer seating dies.

I've been threatening to cut the hoop off mine and add in steel to make it taller. Think I might do that. Could end up as a lucrative little modification for folks. Ship me your handle and I'll make it taller.

Quite a bit of snobbery in this post. When I needed dies for a special project "right now" Hornady dies were the only ones available. I would rather not turn down work over lack of flexibility of die manufacturers.

Looks like Forester has one in the works that will accommodate the lager Cals and dies.

I get it. I have more RCBS and Redding dies than Hornady. Many times the phone call of a rifle coming in was a boutique cartridge. Hang up the phone and then start searching for dies. Several times it was Hornady dies or no dies within the next four months. That would be turning down work. Can't do that. Bank wants their money every 30 days. So every day, I improvise and move on. One time I had a barrel in the barrel vise and the proper action wrench on the action. Penetrating oil, everything tight, even wacked the action wrench handle with an 8 pound sledge. Barrel still screwed into the action, barrel slipping in the vise. Heated the action with Oxy-Fuel and the barrel came out, with ease. Got chit to do.

Hornady makes excellent dies. Many other brands also make excellent dies.
Too many brand fan boys that want to treat handloading equipment like women treat handbags.... brand brand brand. But Hermès is just better!

I have a little of everything from most brands but I do not have use for a $400 single stage press.
I realize others do.
Pass the gravy.

One of the single best features of the press hasn’t even been mentioned and y’all disappoint me.
There is virtually zero primer mess or primers bouncing around the room…they contain all of that, it’s a big genius design of the press in my opinion. Then you couple that with…you need no shell holders…come on man, take my money. Then they throw in, you don’t have to screw in the die for an extra $100.
Yes, I’ve got one and it’ll be the last press I’d sell and the one I use 99% of the time.
I’ve seen a lot of reports and from ones I trust know how to measure that the RCBS Summit will produce the straightest ammo. I’m excempt because most of my seating is not done on a press, I use an arbor with chamber die.

Great point Judd! I have used quite a few single stages and so far the only one’s that never make a mess are the Forster and the tube catcher on the Redding T7. Heck even my Zero press drops about 5% of primers on the deck next to the hole they are supposed to go down.

Very happy with mine, but I keep a Lyman O-frame on the bench as well if I don't want to take the time swap out the shellholder jaws for larger cases, e.g., .450-500. That new XL would have been the nuts when I was loading .577 Snider and .577-450 for the Martinis.
