The compound is such an uncivilized weapon but so efficient when you are at seasons end with tags to fill.

Hate to use such an uncivilized weapon but unfortunately my skills with a trad bow are limited in range and the deer hadn't been cooperating. No way I wanted to have to sink to the low level of using a rifle or worse, a crossbow so that was the next best choice to my longbow. roflmao

Compound bow is a different animal all together but I won’t lie and say I don’t enjoy both shooting it and shooting game with it.

Just a completely different feel than a trad bow.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Well I can't say I enjoy shooting mine like I do my trad bows but . . . There is something satisfying about the consistency of shooting a bow with sights and let off. That said there isn't near the satisfying feeling of a kill with it vs a trad bow. But part of that may be the hundreds of dead animals over two and a half decades. Either way it's bowhunting. I won't say that about a crossbow though.

Had a customer buying a crossbow after getting a shoulder injury, his son was giving him grief about it. I ask the son what bow he uses and his answer was a top end model Mathews. Looked at the Dad and said I will be right back. Stepped in the techroom and got my recurve, brought it out and handed it to the son.

Told him unless he uses a mans bow, not one with training wheels not to give his dad grief

He said no one hunts with those, I jusytold him I do. The dad busted out laughing and bought his xbow.
