A few questions for a friend as I don’t hunt birds

1. Both duck stamps?
2. Plug required?
3. What load is best?
4. Full Camo and face cover or war paint?

Thanks

Waterfowl stamps and crane permit(stamp)

Not sure on plug the ones I have taken were whild on goose hunts or at the lease we were on together.

Steel shot not required as far as I know and shot for the neck/head, I have killed most of mine with steel shot but you want to make sure and break that neck. Last ones I killed were with #5 lead shot but many will say #4. Heavy shot 6 also worked.

Mask is what I used in the past for decoying cranes

Haven't done those hunts in years but would love to sometime again

Crane permit

Yes

You can use lead, but if you have a chance at geese or ducks, don't do it

I do face paint, or ghillie blankets all the way up.

Also, boss #5 works great if you head/neck shoot. If you body shoot, at least boss #3. They are pretty tough birds.

It's not just you with lead. If anyone in your group plans to shoot waterfowl don't take lead. A warden may let that slide but then may not. Specially if that person ends up riding with you.

No matter how high a duck flies a hammer still breaks a window.
