I’ve got the new Mini mounted and sighted in. I had to do the non manly thing and actually read the directions. Tomorrow night I will endeavor to kill the big boar hog that is eating my corn at this moment. If the IR illumination that came with the Wraith doesn’t meet my expectations, what replacement IR light do I need?

The illuminator that comes with the Wraith is pretty good. For best performance its important to align it properly with the scope. The way I like to do it is adjust the illuminator to its tightest beam, set your scope to the lowest magnification so you can see the entire IR beam in the view finder and center the beam in your scope field of view and tighten the set screws. Then you can adjust the beam to give you the best image. Mine works well out to 150 or 200 yds. If you need to shoot beyond that then an upgraded illuminator is a good idea. I have one that get me out to about 350 yards or so with good clarity but its no longer available. I hear good things about the Sniper Hog Light brand.

I fiddled with the illumination last evening. Got it aligned Ok, but your method sounds much smarter and better. Thanks.
There’s a large Boar that comes to the corn at about 7:15 every evening. Tonight I plan to surprise him.

I did that Saturday. Shot a pig at about 9:00 and forgot to hit record. Now I just have to relive it in my mind....

Shot both at coyote and a bobcat in the early morning hours about 30 minutes apart, on December 28th IIRC. Bot times I got excited and concentrated on making the shot and forgot to hit the record button. ya! GWB

BigDad, I followed your advice and got the scope set up great. And that new Wraith Monocular is great (once I figured out how to adjust it). Only problem was no pig or coyote tonight.

I picked up the Unique Fire 1605. Range doubled and it is only a little heavier than the original. Runs on a rechargeable 18650 battery and needs a 1” scope ring to mount. I went with the 50mm option.
The Coyote Canyons are supposed to be the best but seemed a bit obnoxious to hang on a rifle.

Every evening but not EVERY evening … Make sure the wind is right or he probably won't show up. I won't hunt a stand when the wind is blowing at my back toward the feeder or wherever I expect pigs to show up.
