The 4 pigs in my trap yesterday damaged the trigger mechanism. I’ll fix it in a couple of days, and go back to trapping them. Per the wife, I think we have enough meat in the freezer for a while, but I’m inclined to keep trapping them. So, the point of this is that if any of you are within driving range of me (near Thornton), I can call you when I have a new batch of trapped ones. Just let me know what your phone number is, and if you want one I’ll keep it live till you get here.

I’m 2 hours south of central DFW, 2 hours north of the Woodlands, an hour west of Buffalo, and an hour from Temple.

If you bring a cooler and ice and a good knife, you can use my skinning hoist while I drink coffee or beer and observe and offer unwanted advice. grin

I just responded to one fellow. From what he posted, he’d love some meat. I don’t know that he understood that he could get a pig, live till it’s shot by him or me, but the meat gathering is his to do. Requiring a cooler, ice, a sharp skinning knife, and knowledge of skinning. You responded first, so I suppose I should call you first.

I need to repair the trap trigger. And you never know when I’ll have another sounder come visit. But, they always come back. I’ll eventually need your phone number.

Trap is repaired and baited. [Linked Image]
It has sure been useful this winter. Our freezer is full, grandson’s is full, and so is the neighbor’s.

And the hogs just keep on coming. Oh well, the buzzards gotta eat, too.
