Trying to keep the buck to doe ratio at 1:1 means taking does.

Your videos are awesome!
You smoked that old doe.
How far was the shot?

Also, along with a good B/D ratio it is equally important to have a good buck age structure in your herd.
Any idea where you sit right now with immature (1-2 yr olds), middle aged (3-4 yr olds) and mature (5.5 & up) bucks percentage wise?

And to me, I think having more bucks than does once you have your age structure locked down is the way to go. Some of the absolute best places I've been blessed to be on had nearly perfect age structure in the buck herd and 1.2-1.5 bucks per doe. I believe once you are at that point there is very, VERY little chance of any immature buck spreading their genes if they undesirable.

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

I'll bet the ranch in between you two is loaded with does.

Don’t know your history on here but remember several similar videos. Really love them as a learning tool. I’ve got a thread going in archery section about shot placement etc and videos like yours help illustrate some issues with that. Slow mo is great. Tons of videos out there like this but most real long and have to wade through verbiage I’m not interested in. Everyone looks for different things in a video but I like quick examples over and over of the shot and deers reaction etc. Thanks for posting and please keep it up.

At some point in life its time to quit chasing the pot of gold and just enjoy the rainbow. FR

I try to keep them short and sweet!

The shot was 21 yds, elevated. The camera was at such a wide angle, it looks a lot farther. I NEVER shoot farther than 22 yds.
I have a good age structure as well. Roughly 50% 1-2yr old, 30% 3-4yr old, and 20% 5 & up.
