I never saw a Field and Stream article (with diagram) that had the bedding and feeding areas that close together.

They usually had to cross a meandering creek, pass the farmers old tractor, make a scrape at the edge of an overgrown field, travel up to the top of a ridge, and find a south facing slope with the wind in their face.

I guess time have changed. Todays bucks don't do it like their grandpas did it.
