With the 2022 General Deer season in the books for me, I sit here watching the CFP, Fiesta Bowl game, TCU vs Michigan, and reflecting on the season with gratitude and thankfulness. I am so thankful to be hunting the greatest state in the U.S. with its abundance of varied wildlife. I am thankful to be part of the THF's brotherhood; we may not always agree on everything but we generally all agree that TX hunting, rocks! Lastly, I'm thankful for having made an awesome hunting pardner here on the THF, 10+ years ago that I have been leasing a small property with the past 4-5 seasons. We very much see hunting related things and other things similarly and game manage philosophy wise similarly. Look to continue leasing and sharing stories for many more years to come. What are you all thankful for???

What a thoughtful post.
I am grateful for having found this forum and look forward to hunting something in my new "native state," in whose soil so many of my ancestors sleep.

Great post DQ. I am always thankful to spend time in God's greatest creation, the great outdoors. I am thankful to have a very loving wife who always allows me to hunt and fish as much as I want. It is always great to get out of the city and spend peaceful quiet sits in the deer stand. I also am thankful to the many THF's I have met over the years buying and selling ammo, guns or whatever. Every one of those folks were just really good people and down to earth. And as you said Texas is just a great place to live.

I look forward to sharing more stories of my hunts with the forum and one individual in particular that has become a very good friend. I always enjoy our conversations about our hunts and what transpired.

I certainly wish a wonderful and prosperous 2023 to all the THF's out there. Happy New Year to everyone.

4W

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

I’m thankful for my wife and kids, they drive me insane most days but I can’t see a life without them. I’m also thankful that I woke up on the right side of the dirt and still have the ability to do most things I enjoy!

I am thankful for my kids, I don't deserve them.

I am thankful for the few I call friends, don't deserve them either.

Thankful to be alive, when so many others are not.

Plain & simple, it's not your call on what you do not deserve. Nothing wrong with getting more than you deserve if not gained through deception - something I am pretty sure does not belong here. Keep on keeping on.

It was a great year and many of us are ever so fortunate. This year could easily prove to be even better.

On a very simple level I’m thankful for this thread and this forum. On. A deeper level I’m thankful for my career in the fire service and on the deepest level I’m so very thankful for my family and this country and my personal faith. Not in that order but those are my big three

Lots to be thankful for.

Made it to 80 yoa. My Dad said that I would never live to vote. Somebody was going to blow my fool head off. It was unsuccessfully tried.

Retired and financially secure unless Uncle Joe and his Gang in Congress keep looting the economy making my retirement savings more useless.

Thankful that 38 years ago I bought my own hunting land. 133 acres at $405 per acre.

Lots of pretty good but expensive Grandkids.

Thankful for grown kids and that child support payments ended quite a while back.

Thankful that Bidens term of office will end. Now just gotta hope that the Dems haven’t used the last couple of years to keep the elections rigged.

Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.
