That looks great. I do love clam chowder. Did you use any milk or just the quart of cream?

Yes, I did add one soup can of skim milk to the pot, to thin it out a bit. It also needed a little something, as I was cooking and tasting, so added some of my favorite red pepper flakes. The chowder was just too pure white looking, so I had some lobster bouillon base from a bisque I made last week, and so I added 1 tablespoon to add some taste and color!!

The best clam chowder I ever tasted was on a fishing trip to Gloucester Massachusetts. It was so thick you could stand your spoon up in it.

Love Clam Chowder soup and that looks delicious Use to heat up Campbells New England style Clam Chowder soup and add a little Worcestershire sauce to it. Also would heat up cream of Mushroom soup add Smoked Oysters with the oil drained off it with Worcestershire sauce and other spices. When available would use Oyster crackers too. Next time you cook that add a drop of Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl for a taste test
