Checking some game cameras today and noticed this unusually large Mushroom growing.

It is probably 8" tall and around 8"-9" across.

This is Deep East Texas....if that helps.

looks like some kind of split-gil fungi. Try downloading the Seek App by iNaturalist on your phone. Kids have had fun with that one.

Until I got to looking....I had no idea that in Texas alone.... there are over 10,0000 species of mushrooms, who knew?

I dont know what kind of exact mushroom that is, but i would be careful, it could cut you and even kill you if you try to eat it….though i dont know how it will open the knife, just the fact it is holding a knife for you to see tells me it is a deadly shroom.
