Just wondering what the general consensus is on these scopes? And are they worth getting?

AGM, Bering Optics, Pulsar, iRay or N-Vision (Trijicon is a good company too, their technology just needs a major update). Those are by far the most trusted and reliable brands of thermal. You will be hard pressed to find a full time independent (mom and pop/small business) trustworthy thermal dealer that is selling brands outside of that list above. But to answer your question directly, stay far away from ATN. This goes way past a Ford/Chevy debate. ATN has a reputation that they've earned over many many years.

And the reputation they earned is very bad.

ATN = Garbage.
Pulsar or Trijicon only IMO. For no other reason, they stand behind their products.
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

Thanks for answering my question there. Sounds like I dodge some frustration and grief.

ATN has occasionally sold good products inadvertently, but they usually make up for the mistake with their customer service.

I guess I may be the odd man out or maybe I won the nIght-vision lottery. I have both night vision and thermal I've owned both the ATN HD2 and the 4K Pro and have had absolutely no issues. I've used the 4K pro at least monthly for the last 3 years or so IIRC. As an aside, i have the Sightmark 4K Mini 2-16 also. A bud and I have killed over 500 hoglets since June of 2018. I'd have a hard time counting all the hoglets I've perforated with the 4K Pro. I love the ability to sit in my stand and stream real-time to my I-Pad. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/eOnHItc.png) I can sit out all night, text and read on my I-phone without having to keep my eye glued to the scope. When a critter comes in, it catches my attention. I stop the streaming, take stills and video. I also have the Flir PTS 233, the Bering optics Super Hogster and Super Yoter, but still employ the ATN 4KPro. If I had it all over to do again. I'd do the 3.5- 14 vs. the 5-20, as my shots are typically 120 yds. and under. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/txZqL1B.jpg) HD II ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/RFFg9Im.png) 4K pro w/ included illuminator ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/p1dvjYX.png) 4K Pro w/ Nightsight IR 750 Extreme Illuminator. G Dub's got it going on...in style. Take notes.
(I still won't buy an ATN. I figure G Dub already got the good one. LOL.)

Ya! GWB GeeDubya, I'm right there with you. I bought one of the original ATN X-Sights when they first came out what was it 7 or 8 years ago. It is still killing hogs. I got the 5X model, my son got the 3x model. My nephew bought the X-Sight II, a buddy of mine bought the X-Sight 4K. Based on that experience when I wanted thermal my other son and I both bought ATN Thor LT 320 3x scopes. They work just fine as well. I can't comment on ATN's customer service, because none of us has ever needed it. IF ATN is as bad as the folks around here make them out to be, how can they still be in business?

You may own an original X-sight, which means you own a scope that NEVER worked as advertised and you paid for features you should be able to use, that you paid for, but that don't work.
