I watch a lot of you tube videos, mainly because TV sucks, I have watched a ton of videos on cleaning and cooking deer liver. Do any of you take and eat the liver from deer? When I deer hunted I left it for the coyotes and hogs. The wife, son in law and grand daughter love liver, as for me barf
Just asking a question and wondering.

There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

I don’t eat organs. If the animal has something wrong with it, whatever that is will likely be concentrated in the liver.

+1, my mom cooked hearts both beef and deer. I like fried chicken livers.

roflmao Love me some liver from young animals. I get a real craving for it sometimes. Hated it when I was a kid, but love it as an adult.

Yes I save about one liver a year. Usually from a young deer. I really enjoy liver and onions.

I love chicken and beef liver. The one deer liver I cooked was tough.

We've eaten the liver, heart, kidneys, tripe and chitterlings, all are good. My grandmother wasted nothing.

I can't stand beef liver. Don't see any reason I'd like deer liver. I have taken it and cooked it for the dogs before, but generally don't.

Deer liver is much tougher than beef liver. I quit saving the deer liver for that reason. The heart is delicious, and,I just found out, so is the tongue!

Same here....much less eat it myself.

The liver is an organ that filters out waste from the blood and body.

Plus I'm not eating anything that literally crawls in the pan when you cook it.

That was a major source of contention between me and my Mother (who loved liver). Growing up I sat at the table until I literally fell asleep (refusing to eat it).

We were raised to eat what was set before us....and typically that was no problem. But I'm not eating liver....period!

You can peel my skin off in small strips and throw salt on me....before I will eat liver.

Really good for you, but I could never handle the taste.

Might as well just get a large chunk of fat and eat that. wink

I doubt many folks even know how it is produced (force fed birds to produce a fatty liver). Cruel practice IMO.
