I need to buy some more rigs for next year. And I am thinking of going with the tangle free rigs. Anyone got some recommendations normally I just clip all my decoys together but I am tired of the tangled mess so trying to decide if I should start using a bag or get some slotted bags. What do y’all use?

Make your own. Get PVC coated cable and don't look back. The lifetime ones hold up very well but the top loop you put carbineer through is very small and tough to use with gloves. The dive bomb ones have a bomb shaped weight that holds all sorts of aquatic vegetation when you pull them out. The rogers brand get sticky when left in the sun.

I’ve only ever used the slotted bags for my full bodies or mojo’s/jerk strings. They’re awful big, but I guess it would work to keep things separated. It would keep the paint job looking good for longer as well.

My buddy runs tangle free and doesn't use a carabiner at all. Just puts them in weight down. I've only seen them tanlge once and took a couple of minutes to get out. I did not buy them, but I beleive this guy out of LA was cheaper and he has a patent on it. Will price them out again when I'm ready to move on from the ones I have. https://www.hebertscustomdecoyrigs.com/customized-texas-rigs Question - do you knot the rigs by the decoys or just let them dangle from the carabiner? If you don't I would try the knot or a twist tie down as close as you can to the decoys themselves. Take out knot or twist tie and you're good to go.

I just hook them to the carabiner and go... I'll try the knot.

![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/1pyzv58.jpg) PVC pipe keeps them from tangling when being stored or transported. I like it, but some don't

Have about 6-8 dozen of the Herbert’s rigs and have used them for past 5 years. I won’t buy another. We used the coated stainless cable ones and couldn’t be happier. HeyDay/Lifetime - same same. They are the best rigs by far, I make my own to save a few $$ and make bigger loops for easier pickup.

Apologies - he runs Lifetime/Heydey. Not sure how I messed that up. My buddy runs tangle free and doesn't use a carabiner at all. Just puts them in weight down. I use 3-4 Higdon duck butts, higdon Battleship mallard on occasion- on real still days and smaller spreads the mallard Machine is the best for motion in the market- basically a trolling motor attached to 12v w control in blind. It will move dozens of dekes.
Incredible. Decoy rigs can be a pain IMO. I know they tend not to fail like electronics. Stay away from lucky duck products with bulge pumps. Total junk, very low quality components.
