I figured they would nix the conservation order eventually. I expect it has a statistically zero effect on light goose populations wintering in Texas.
As for the HIP certification, the numbers are at best a rough estimate. It would be better if the system allowed us to enter the HIP information in our Texas Hunt Harvest App (it's there under voluntary reporting but if it could be tied to HIP that would give the state better info).
No matter how high a duck flies a hammer still breaks a window.

The HIP program has been a joke for a long time now. To many are not truthful with their answers. I agree, but I don’t like the part about making hunters go online and fill out the info in order to be able to bird hunt that year.

The HIP program has been a joke for a long time now. To many are not truthful with their answers. Its a stupid program and a waste of time and money. It cost a lot to get the information, if we all know it is absolutely not accurate, stop wasting the time and money.

There are times now that I believe the goal of TPWD is to make things more difficult, thereby decreasing hunters and hunter opportunity.
