There are several reasons for this: I am blessed that a friend allows me to hunt on his small LF acreage In south Texas. The county I hunt has a no doe season, minus thanksgiving weekend, with antler restrictions through the season. I have been very fortunate for the past 6-7 years, minus last year to harvest a deer. Since not getting a shot last year and me getting a Buck this year really makes me appreciate the food it has supplied for my family. Great lean meat for my heart as well.
I am truly blessed, from an unselfish friend to nature and God.
I hope each and everyone of you all get what you desire or need.
Respectfully.

You are certainly blessed.
But all counites I know of down south allow does all season long per your tags. What county are you in???
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

He hunts near Belmont and he is blessed. Yup Some good deer in that area for sure though I would not consider that south Texas really.

Technically it is not Gonzales County lies in the Post Oak Savannah, not the South Texas Plains ecoregion. https://tpwd.texas.gov/publications/pwdpubs/media/pwd_mp_e0100_1070ac_34.pdf

Gonzales county is not South Texas.
As a general idea, South Texas is South of Hwy 90 and West of Hwy 37.
Gonzales has some beautiful properties, but it’s not close to being in the South Texas eco region.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Yup, Gonzalez county is not typically considered South Texas, closer to coastal plains region.

Nice try but that ain't even close to South Texas brush country. This is a map of what TPWD considers Region 8 or South Texas. I don't even consider any part of a county east of HWY 181 South Texas. That would rule out most of Wilson, Karnes and Goliad County. ![[Linked Image]](https://tpwd.texas.gov/huntwild/wild/birding/pif/assist/images/12_pif_reg_8.gif)
