Just for grins I did put out a mineral site ....the deer hit the site right away and a year later without adding more minerals to the site...I recommend it. I also recommend putting out roasted soy beans or just soy beans...also I put out "Golden Nuggets" which also works great. " You will not be disappointed. Anything that is a plus I put out sparingly and often. Sparingly due to cost. I guess you could say I'm tight with my money. lol

Get the minerals in granular form in a bag, find a rotten tree stump and pour it on the stump. They will paw the stump to pieces getting to the minerals. We also have several licks on the ground, make sure it is in a place that doesn't stay under water if you are hunting land that floods.
If you are going with a block, the brown trace mineral ones work good for us. Biggest problems we have with them is the hogs tend to roll them around quite a bit.

What Wytex said! I had water on a protein feeder and had a bruiser hitting it every day until the end of August. Lost my water source and the deer disappeared. I think a dependable water source is key.

Go to tractor supply, get "All Stock Minerals," dig a shallow hole, and pour some in. Place a camera at the site they will be on it within a day. I've had as many as 8 does milling around the Mineral spot.

Did you just pour the soybeans and golden nuggets on the ground?

I buy salt blocks and put them in feed pens, a big block that’s made for cattle will last about a year
