Will the deer go for them in SW Young county? Collected two shopping bags full from neighbor's yard. Remember the deer hammering red oak nuts I've put out before and guessing they'll do same to Burr Oak ones. What say THF.

If there isn’t other oaks around, or the local acorns have spoiled they will eat them. They have a harder/thicker shell than a live oak or white oak acorn. Deer that are use to them will gobble them up, I’m sure all deer will show interest at the minimum.

I did that in Stephens County on a lease years ago. Just spread them around a feeder. They eat them like candy.

I use to spread 300-400 pounds of them every November. I only recall seeing 1 doe eat them. Pigs will absolutely destroy them though.

They love burr oak. Two of my four best bucks were taken from a burr oak.
