I am absolutely no good at judging age of bucks. This is one I've had on camera this year. I've already had my buck, so he's safe from me, although perhaps not from the neighbors. How old would you say he is? [Linked Image]

Yup
Maybe even 4!

And OP, your neighbors would be doing your place and the gene pool a favor by removing him. He doesn't have much bone for a deer that size and age.

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Exactly, I'm sure some on here will say 2 but that deer is older than he may appear, 3.5-4.5 somewhere in that range..

Yep, antlers look like a 2 but body is older.

Eh, maybe. We've had a really poor year for antlers all around. The drought really hit the deer hard, and there just wasn't a lot of nutrition. Our deer all tend to be big bodied. It's a blessing to my freezer.

Here is one I took several years ago. Sorry I don't have a better picture. He was only a 6 point, but with a lot more mass, and he was pretty old just judging by the amount of gray around his muzzle. What do you think?

That first deer looks like every age out there. 2.5 face, 6.5 back/butt, 5.5 stomach/ribs, 3.5-4.5 neck. Would not surprise me if he's 4.5 this year.

Apples to oranges comparison possibly not withstanding the drought; the first buck I would surmise is of inferior genetics to that 2nd pictured buck. Age wise I think they're both close, 4+

Oh, I never thought the first one would compare with this one. I'm just trying to get ideas on his age. Thanks.

Not like north Texas, unless they have been brought down here from up north, and put behind high fence.
