Are we seeing far less harvest pics than in recent seasons? Direct correlation to lower number of deer harvests or folks not posting pics as much or a bit of both?

Think folks are posting less, it seems to be a trend over the past few years.

There are less hunters on this forum than ever before. Most the folks participating these days are just here for off topic.

Seems to be a trend of migration to the OT. That and there are groups that only spread amongst themselves.

BUT we're getting a ton of musicology knowledge, for absolutely free, from some regular Renaissance Men. So, there's that.

I think many don’t post because they don’t want to be asked high fence or low fence, how many acres, be told they should have given the buck another year or many of the other questions that attempt to throw shade on something that they are very proud of.

Talked to my deer processor buddy yesterday. He said his numbers are way down. Maybe not a lot of killing this year, I sure haven't heard many shots.

I see that, on the other hand sometimes we are judging ourselves instead. I like to see what people are getting of their place to gauge our own. We worked for several years on ours starting with typical shot out poorly managed lease property to seeing and shooting mature deer every year our goal was a 150 and we have gotten close but not broke it yet. A few that got away that would have and drought years that seemingly robbed us of it. I have two buddies with similar places but HF they smashed the 150 well under 5 years and continue to repeatedly. To me it like different classes of race cars or weight classes in fighters etc. just like to know the details. I’d happily and proudly hunt both.

My theory. This is, at least in our area, has been a big year for acorns. When there are lots of acorns, deer forget about corn. When deer don’t come to feeders, people don’t shoot as many deer.

Drought hurt deer numbers and antler size big time!!

I certainly haven't seen anything worth writing home about on the game cam pics.

I didn't shoot a deer on our new place the year (shot cow elk in Wyoming) but have 2 friends that have never shot a whitetail deer before, so I told them to shoot whatever they wanted.
They both shot smaller 8's, and I'm good with that. One friend is 74 and don't know how many more years he has in the field.

I still see tons of pics of lovely Facebook. We’ve knocked down 6 deer so far but normally don’t share many pics.

Didn't post as stated above, there smaller deer and didn't need educated on here why not to shoot. But you know what, it's my place so we play by my rules.
My friends who shot them are happy and that's all that matters. Here are the pictures.

Op didn't really want to know why, how or what regarding any pics, was simply wondering if the lack of deer harvest pics were pointing to less deer being seen/harvested, or folks just posting up less pics. To each, their own I've always said and much congrats to your buds putting venison down.

Maybe fewer hunters in general on the forum? It would be interesting to know what % of those that have made a post of any type in the last year harvested a deer within the last 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 years.
